Chennai Shopping Festival

Come Festival Time and its just the right moments to pick up the shopping bag and head out to shop away till the might of the purses last. The Good thing about shopping these days is that the Purse has become ultra light with all the plastic money around, the credit lines have assumed a six pack look. 

The Dilemma about shopping is that while I know what to shop for, the question always is where to shop and will the prices be attractive enough to suit my budget. Thankfully enough in Chennai this year we have the Chennai Shopping Festival. I was in conversation with Mr Balachandar R founder and CEO Wassup Laundry . By the end of the conversation I was tempted to walk into one of the participating stores and endear myself to the shopping experience. I intend doing the same over this weekend. I drool over books and my favorite book store in Adyar, Odyssey.  Here is the extract of the conversation I had with Mr Balachandar.

What is Chennai Shopping Festival ?
More than 30 brands and 350 stores have come together to jointly celebrate and promote their festive offers during the diwali season. Participating brands will display collaterals of being part of the festival

Where is the festival being held ?
Festival is at the participating brands stores in Chennai. The objective is to cross promote and drive traffic to all the participating brands.

How long is the festival duration ?
Festival is from 7th October to 3rd November 2016

Who is organising the festival ?
It is a festival by the retailers. It is being organised by the members of the Chennai retail community with support and lead by Retailers Association of India - the official industry body that represents retail trade.

Where do customers get to see the offers and which are the brands participating?
The participating brands and their offers are all listed in www.chennaishoppingfestival.com They will be able to see the same on visit the website and get the SMS coupons online.

Mr Balachandar went on to add that the idea of this shopping festival is to give the shopper a world class shopping experience and the vision is to develop it into a futuristic tourist delight on par with the Dubai Shopping Festival in the years to come.The objective is to add to the festive season and make all Diwali offers and experiences available in one single platform through www.chennaishoppingfestival.com. Apart from offers you have malls and brands offering experiences ranging from the largest rangoli to live dandiya to book reading etc.  Two Leading Malls in Chennai Phoenix and Forum are also part of the festival. Good News is that this is the first time retailers are coming together as an industry to create a festival of this magnitude and this will be an annual affair.                          

I have been always worried about the hassles of parking considering the traffic. Thankfully that has been taken care of. The organizers have tied up with Uber and have launched a special offer as a discounted ride for customers shopping at Chennai Shopping Festival Destinations. They can use the coupon csf150 and get Rs.150 off for their ride to shop.

What am i waiting for. I am looking for my smart phone to get myself an Uber, and shop till i drop. Thankfully the wife is not listening... :) or maybe she has got wind of it and already at one of the stores.

It is special and very special in a particular quote that belongs to me. I have a certain birthright licence over it.
