Chinnis Corner: Cricket Bajji Time

Image
Its that time of the week when you just want to unwind, spend time with the family, do all those things that you would normally not to do during the course of the week. I for instance would love to shop for veggies, wash them, chop them for further processing and maybe indulge in a few movies. Its around Tea Time in India, when I would love to have that evening snack with my hot cup of tea. So Today the wife decided that it will be Bajji for a snack. I Thought that its been a while since I did a food blog and so this quick one for a Saturday and here is the recipe: Take Gram Dal, Garam Masala Powder, Red Chilly Powder, and Turmeric Powder in a Vessel. Mix all the ingredients well. In a separate vessel have chopped vegetables kept aside. You can use a variety of vegetables like Capsicum, Onion, Potato or Brinjal, as per your choice. Now mix the Gram Dal and other ingredients in water till you get a paste like consistency. Its important to note here not to add too

Dear Media Please dont blame the Indian Cricket Team

Dear Media, Please don't blame the Indian Cricket Team. They have lost just one match. They went out of India after a gruelling IPL season. It is very difficult to come out blazing all guns after a season In India which can be physically very demanding. From the hot summer in India they went to the cooler chimes in England. Requires time to adapt mentally and physically to the alien conditions. Yet they won the warm up matches against Bangladesh and New Zealand, thereafter beating arch rivals Pakistan in a group match. Three matches won and only one lost against Sri Lanka. Let us remember to applaud the quality of cricket that Sri Lanka dished out yesterday. I was particularly offended by the tweet of Sumant Raman:  https://twitter.com/sumanthraman/status/872866463656271872 The tweet needs to be condemned and taken off. I grew up liking the game and more often than not have ended up seeing the Indian Cricket Team lose to all and sundry. Even Teams like Zimbabwe would beat

My Coffee My Way and Eden Gardens

Did Tallboykarthik ever tell you that he is crazy about Cricket. Of course he is and is every other Indian. So this story is about every passionate Cricket Fan who loves the game dearly. The Cricket star representing the nation is a celebrity but so is a Cricket Fan who throngs the stadium, who sits around the television set chewing away at his nails, till the moment of truth arrives, either the match is lost or a victory is well in sight. In between those moments one never has a count of the innumerable cups of coffee that goes in, just to calm those nerves. Well when Tallboykarthik was SmallBoyKarthik, he used to stay in Kolkata with his parents and sister. In those days Cricket was the only past time for the entire family. Come Winter, the glazed sunlight, chill in the air and an ideal season for a great game of Cricket at the Eden Gardens. I still remember that we would be present on all five days of a test match at the Eden Gardens. My mother who remains devoted to her wor

A Summer Well Spent at Gen-next Cricket Institute

By the time this blog hits the online space, the Champions Trophy is well and truly underway. Bangladesh flattered only to deceive, the mother of all battles is just another 48 hours away, India Vs Pakistan. However for me personally it was a summer well spent most of it on a Cricket Ground. I am glad I found Gen-next Cricket Institute as it gave me an official blogger status. As a parent the Summer Slam presented itself to me in a most beautiful manner. I still remember the day when I first approached Sudarshan for my sons coaching requirements. I cannot forget the day when I first met Ashwin in flesh and blood. It all seemed surreal. Passing away like a beautiful dream. There were a few coaches around him when those first few famous words were uttered by ashwin. "Neenga dhaanay tallboykarthik ". My fascination for Gennextcricket Institute and Ashwin took an accelerated flight of steps. I started getting close to the coaches. Ashwin would pr
