Cricket and Blogging: Drawing a Parallel

Image
I have come to realize that both Cricket and blogging are my favorite pastimes, an absolute passion. There is so much that one can write about as far as Cricket is concerned. It is this passion that has led me to this blog. I will try to draw a parallel between Cricket and Blogging. Hope that the Cricket Loving Bloggers will enjoy this Limited match of words between the ball and the keyboard. Cricket is an intense battle between Bat, Ball and the Mind. Blogging is that constant chatter between, Words, Keyboard and the Mind. Cricket is a game that is played between twenty two players, watched by thousands of spectators. Blogging is game played between 26 alphabets, watched by millions of online audiences. A Batsman scores runs and the same gets posted on the scoreboard. A Blogger shares a Post which gets shared on social media. A Spinner makes a Batsman dance to the tune of his deliveries. A Blogger spins a Tale to enthrall his audience A Batsman plays a poor shot and he g

Day 5: 365 Day Blogging Challenge: A Citizens Moorings

I am into Day 5 of the 365 Day Blogging Challenge. One things that I have quickly managed to notice is that words and topics have been easy to come by, most naturally as though they were predestined to fall in place. Most of the late evenings are now spent in reflecting on what has transpired and what could have been. As I rest back and put my words in place, a lot of thoughts freelance their way into my unstructured mind. One way of giving a proper structure to my thoughts would be to give shape to them in the form of words. This blog is all about a common man's moorings as he seeks answers to what he observes in his day to day living. I start my two wheeler and then remember that my mother has given me some waste material to be deposited in the roadside bin. It is a total eye sore to get to the place where the bin is located. There is waste material all around the bin, and the bin itself is only half full. Why at all at have a bin in the first place? We might as well litte

Day 4: 365 Day Blog Challenge: India Vs South Africa

The Caravan moves on. The mind continues to work overtime and meanders along. Finally it decides on a topic. I have decided to move a little away from Vijaya's Cricketing ways just to align myself to the rest of my thoughts, la a small commercial break before the show goes on. Saying that I will not move away from Cricket because that is what is my passion, my first love. The day is just a little more than 24 hours away, when the India-South Africa Freedom series gets underway. In my mind the Indian Playing eleven is quite clear: Shikar, Vijay, Pujara, Kohli, Rohit, Saha, Ashwin, Hardik, Bhuvi, Shami, Bhumra. There is no chance of Kohli playing an extra batsman instead of a bowler especially in the series opener. Considering that there will be extra bounce in Cape Town, it has to be a lone spinner in the form of Ashwin, given that Jadeja is unwell. Kohli will do India a big favour by winning the toss. Any team that chooses to win the toss will opt to bowl first, given the

365 Day -Blog Challenge-Day 3-Vijayalakshmi-The Story of an Indian Mad Head Cricket Fan

When I started to think about the 365 Day Blog Challenge, I knew that it would take a huge effort to accomplish it. Each day would be a fresh drive, barriers to be overcome namely: Motivation, Topics, Mood Swings, Laziness, lack of creativity, not being in the right frame of mind, all creating mental disturbances. While thoughts crossed the mind on what could prevent me from writing, I decided to close my eyes for a few minutes and seek some kind of a divine intervention on what could help me to write each day of the 365 days. I have successfully completed three days but need to keep the flow on. It was at this moment of time that a thought struck me out of the blue, to write about my own Mother, a sort of tribute to her unwavering spirit. Now I was sure that this would keep me going for the next six months at least. She is all of 78 years old today. Her name is Vijayalakshmi. Every human being is born with some unique talent and passion. For Her it was the game of Cricket. To

Day 2: 365 Day Blog Challenge: Pa Pa Ra Pa Parodies-Brands Take Notice

Image
This is Day 2 of the 365 Day Blog Challenge that I have taken up. Its a huge challenge to take up because its never about the numbers but about the quantity of the Blog in itself. Ideally I would love to come up with 365 pearls, but to qualify it as a pearl would be entirely the decision of the readers. I request you to kindly qualify, disqualify, dissect and pass on your kind feedback. Its not going to be easy- but that motivation of having reached out to a large audience that loves to read is enough for me to come back with a pearl each day. I am a converted twitter freak. I love the conversations, would love to get into a healthy positive  debate and each time there is a RT, it does light my eyes brighter. I have been on Twitter the last five years and have seen simple mortals becoming celebrities thanks to Twitter. Last Year I noticed yet another trend, that of several Parodies coming into play especially from Chennai. I say Chennai because all of them have incorporated Tamil

Colorful Pebbles of Parenting and Coaching

2017 is past us and today is the first day of 2018. For TallBoyK Blogging is a way of life and both are inseparable. I have authored several blogs last year and God willing I shall attempt to paint many a word in 2018. One of the resolutions of this new year is to remain positive right through the year and as useful as possible to my dear readers. So at the very outset, wishing all of us a Very Happy and Prosperous 2018. I have always been fascinated by colorful pebbles and these are the Pebbles that I wish to share with you as well. These pebbles have been collected by me through life experiences, day to day happenings and ones that can be put to practice by each one of us. This blog is more on the lines of Parenting. My kids as any Indian child would have a fascination for the game of cricket and so they train at Gennext Cricket Academy mentored by Ravichandran Ashwin. Prior to Gennext they have trained at other academies in the city. This is where I would
