Ashwin Bhai Visits Amir Mahal

Image
There is never a paucity and dearth of Ashwin and Ashwinism in me. I am a die hard Ashwin fan and I have no qualms in accepting the fact. I would be in any place on the planet just to see Ashwin go through his paces and the joy that he gives to his fans. So when last weekend I got wind of the fact that Ashwin would be playing a fun cricket match at the Amir Mahal grounds, I quickly readied myself to be there for the event. Initially the event in itself did not excite me as much as bumping into Ashwin. I have not been to Triplicane before but have heard about the narrow by-lanes. Not wanting to get into parking hassles I made myself comfortable in an Ola Auto. I reached the palace grounds in double quick time and was quite taken in by the aura and sheer grandeur of the place. As I entered the famed Amir Mahal right in front of me, there was a red ancient palace, all looking very royal and resplendent. I could not take my eyes off the architecture and the royalty of the place. I q

Going through reports in the media, I was often left wondering why large chunks of population are left without any job. Has it anything to do with government policy or are there gaps that fail to meet the eye. How do we ensure that teachers all across the nation upskill themselves? How do we move as a nation from Bharat to India? This is the question that ne

An Open Letter to Srini Mama

Dearest Srini Mama, At the very outset many congratulations on crossing the coveted 2 lakh mark as far as Twitter Followers for your Twitter account. That is a huge following for a Parody account. I have been wanting to write this letter for a long while but certain other commitments have kept me away from doing up this much important note. Better late than never though. I am one of your die hard fan of yours. Our association is not new. Ever since you have come on the Cricket Field I have followed you very closely and an avid enthusiast of each of your behind the scene moves. Rarely has a Parody got as much attention and as much traction that you have received on social media. I am sure that if you were to do a survey of Chennai residents alone you will come to a conclusion that seven out of ten respondents already know you. I guess the reasons for your success has been of course your passionate and devoted following of the game. The ability to crunch down numbers, deep div

Ayurveda-Back to the Roots

Ayurveda is a 5,000-year-old system of natural healing that has its origins in the Vedic culture of India. Although suppressed during years of foreign occupation, Ayurveda has been enjoying a major resurgence in both its native land and throughout the world. Tibetan medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine both have their roots in Ayurveda. Early Greek medicine also embraced many concepts originally described in the classical ayurvedic medical texts dating back several thousands of years. More than a mere system of treating illness, Ayurveda is a science of life (Ayur = life, Veda = science or knowledge). It offers a body of wisdom designed to help people stay vital while realizing their full human potential. Providing guidelines on ideal daily and seasonal routines, diet, behavior and the proper use of our senses, Ayurveda reminds us that health is the balanced and dynamic integration between our environment, body, mind, and spirit.
