MS Dhoni-An Untold Story- Top Ten Reasons Why is it a Must Watch for anyone.

On the insistence of my two young school going boys, I decided to take a peek into what MS Dhoni has to offer. My kids were particularly quite excited to see their real life hero being transformed into a reel life hero as well. At the outset Kudos to Neeraj Pandey for having pulled off a sensational movie- a must watch by any standards. So here I was along with my two cricket enthusiasts, the younger one was clad in his favorite No.7 MSD T shirt waiting for the show to begin. So here are Top Ten Reasons why I would want anyone to watch this movie:

Reason One: Humble Beginnings

MSD comes from very humble beginnings with no baggage of a famous father to carry around. His is a rise to the top from the bottom, with no influence backing and from a state which definitely had no claim to fame as far as sports is concerned. MSD can be an ideal for any youngster aspiring to reach the top-sheer hard work being the only mantra to success.

Reason Two: Recognition of Talent

In His childhood days he is shown as having a keen interest in football rather than cricket. Its his school cricket coach who sees his goalkeeping skills and feels that he can become a top notch wicket-keeper. It requires a Leader to recognize the talent of an emerging leader. There are many such management lessons to be learnt from his untold story.

Reason 3: How MSD developed his Sprint Talent

Often there are skills that we just pick up along the way. I often used to wonder how MSD had acquired that fast sprint between wickets. Its actually the runs he would carry out between the large Kharagpur platforms to hand over travelling passenger lists to waiting TC's that trained him for those sprints. You must watch the movie to see these sprints. Absolutely Amazing

Reason 4: Never be overawed by a highly talented opponent

In his earlier days in one of the league matches he has to play against an already established Yuvraj Singh. While MSD is not overawed by the situation his teammates are, which is the reason why his team goes on to lose the match against Punjab.

Reason 5 : Captain Cool is as cool as a Cucumber.

Right from his early days including his days of struggle MSD has always maintained his cool. Whether it was his days in the Railways as a TC or his days as an Indian Captain He has remained composed and never allowed his state of mind to affect his close one. A must watch scene in this regard is the scene where he come to know that his earlier girlfriend died in a tragic car accident. The scene where his friends help him to reach the Kolkata Airport from Ranchi only to find out that he has missed his flight, can break anyone's resolve not MSD though. It only makes him stronger.

Reason 6: A True Biopic without Apeing MSD

It definitely is a biopic because it shows his story and does not try to ape MSD. Director Neeraj Pandey has definitely taken special care to ensure the same. Yes mannerisms are there like biting his nails, that characteristic walk to the crease but nothing else. Kudos to Sushanth Singh Rajput for having pulled it off as MSD. Tough job. Very Well Kept!!!!  This is where most Biopics fall flat on the ground. They get caught between narrating the actual story and getting into the character whose Biopic it is supposed to be. This is how Biopics are supposed to be made.

Reason 7: Fast paced almost like a T20 but its duration is that of a One Dayer

Three Hours plus is supposed to be the actual length of the movie. the Movie however moves at a very fast pace between the scenes much like a T20. Before you realize MSD lifts the 2011 World Cup which is his crowning glory as well as that of the movie.

Reason 8: MSD and the Helicopter shot

We have often been amazed by MSD and Helicopter shot. Not many know how he acquired this in his armory. I will not go into the details of this. You must watch this movie to see how he got it right.

Reason 9: Academics is important

For any parent in India Cricket or for that matter any sport is only secondary with due importance being given to academics. You must watch how MSD keeps his father happy, appears for his exams, finishes it much ahead of time, and sprints to catch the train and the training sessions. A valuable lesson learnt for any sports aspirant.

Reason 10: Movie does not carry any excess baggage of superstars.

It is a Biopic of MS Dhoni and that is reason enough to watch the movie. Neeraj Pandey has carried the movie without any superstars to brag about excepting Anupam Kher who plays the role of MSD's father and Bhoomika Chawla who essays the role of MSD's sister. A Key takeaway- A Movie can ring the cash-bells at the box office if its has a good storyline.

By the time those who have watched the movie, MSD has pulled off another helicopter shot, revenues have crossed 100 crores and much more to come.  MSD-if you are reading this movie, I am truly inspired by your biopic. Well Done to Neeraj Pandey and His Team
