Typical Pakistan attitude, not allowing the our journos to cover the SAARC level meeting in Islamabad. It was an international level meeting, where the coverage would be from scribes, the world over. So Mr Nawaaz Sharif why was the special treatment meted out to the Indian Press. Why was the Pakistani media told to to block the Indian contingent. Totally smacks of diplomacy. Does it call for Reciprocal treatment when your leaders step on our soil. No it does. Looks like the Pakistanis are more worried about how many times our Home Minister visited the Washroom. This is indeed a gross insult for the Indian scribes not being allowed to stand outside the gates of the SAARC venue. For more information read this article: http://goo.gl/zqKkJG

Where there is ego, there can never be success. That sums up the Indian Tennis Men's team performance at Rio. There were reports about how Leander checked in late and how he did not want to share a room with his partner Rohan Bopanna. Unconfirmed reports again. Its quite out in the open that Rohan did not want to partner with Leander. Washing dirty linen in the public is never really a good idea. We all know what a great champion Leander is. When it comes to country he gives out his best. We all have been a witness to the passionate performances Leander has given in Davis Cup matches, his game against France and then against the big serving Ivanisevic. One cannot forget his epic battle against Agassi at the Olympics. Same cannot be said about Rohan Bopanna though. What are his achievements? What are the tournaments that he has won? Davis Cup or individually? other than his partnership with the Pakistani Gentleman. What is that which is fueling Rohan's ego? Surprising. Wha...

The Heart Pains to read the violent headlines on a daily basis. Terror raises its ugly hood once again this time around in Assam. A few more innocent lives lost, and many more will be lost in the days and years to come if the problem is not rooted out. Yes Rooted out, because you need to address the problem at the root level. We all know from where the problems are emnating from and who is providing fire to a few hundred misguided youth. It is heartening to note that our Home Minister ventured to Islamabad as a part of the SAARC Ministers meeting and mentioned it openly that Pakistan stop glorifying terrorists as martyrs. But on the other side, what the Citizen would like to know is, Where does the buck stop? How long do we continue to tolerating terror. Its fine to issue statements and keep warning an errant neighbor, but when do we see real action being taken? Pakistan obviously has not learnt its lessons after the Kargil misadventure and the 71 war, in both cases they were forced...

Today is indeed an auspicious day, for it happens to be my mothers 76th birthday. Lucky and Blessed are those who are under the loving shelter of their Parents. I am singularly fortunate that way. As I begin to write this blog, I also have this deep fear within me. People say that I am blessed with an inherent talent to write, but somehow the continuity does not seem to last. I hope and pray that this writing spree continues to burn in me for a longer period of time. There are two things that I wish to write about today, One Cricket and the other the Rio Olympics. let me first begin with the Gentlemans Game-Cricket. Even as India Tours West Indies, I am taken back to the 70's when legends like Greenidge,Haynes, Garner, Andy Roberts, Michael Holding, Malcom Marshall, Vivian Richards,Clive Llyod used to reign supreme over the world of cricket. There would be jeers from the Crowd "Get Him Maaan" and even "Hit Him Maaaan" . Players would lose their sleep over hav...
