Why is it That the South of the Country always gets a raw Deal.

Image
At the outset wishing all my friends the world over a Very Happy Diwali. Back to my blogging ways and random thoughts. However I would like to take feedback from the readers of my blogs as well. These are purely observations and readers may well choose to disagree with what I have expressed over here. A healthy debate is always welcome. Now this blog will represent a series of questions that run across my puzzled brain and I do seek answers. Why is is that when it rains in Mumbai or in Delhi, its a war like scenario, people are walking home 30-40 kilometers whereas in Chennai,Bangalore, Hyderabad a downpour occurs, its just like any other day. A Rajdeep or even an Arnab will take to the roads and highlight the suffering of the monsoon affected people while in the South their representatives are not to be seen anywhere. We are as much a part of the country as a Mumbai or a Delhi. We are as much Indian as the North or the West is then why is this difference on account of. This is a...

A Letter from a DieHard Fan of BigB to Shoojit Sircar

Image
Dear Shoojit Da, At the outset let me state categorically that I am a Huge Big B Fan but after seeing Pink and Piku I must admit that I have become your fan as well. I have no qualms to state that I am a Indian by birth and a Bengali by heart. I have spent all my childhood days in Kolkata, studied in Don Bosco, Park Circus and so you can call me Kolkataar Chelay. The reason for writing to you is actually based on your tribute to Big B in your Article in TOI. I wholeheartedly endorse each word that you have written. You have worked with the legend and therefore there is authority in each word, and as factual as it can get. In my early formation years I have been much enamoured by him. I tried to walk and talk like him. In fact I have broken my throat hoarse multiple times just to get closer to that baritone voice of his. Thanks to Dr. Ghosh and his throat relievers I could get back to my own voice. Dr. Ghosh on seeing me itself would state " Kee Karthik Aabar Tomaar Omita...

Image
I am back to doing a Recipe Blog after a long time. Coming to Food and Recipes my mother does have a magical hand, The food that she has cooked all these years has been nothing but mind blowing. Experience shows in the right amount of spices, salt and pepper, the cooking time, the mixing of all the ingredients and Hey Presto you have a dish that deserves much more than a Michelin Star. I will sort of deviate a little from my normal routine of just posting a recipe but experiment around, research a little. Always Helps. I strive to achieve more than perfection in all that I write. It should be perceived as useful for all those who read the blog. So here is what I would like to go about it, take a list of the main ingredients and derive the Health benefits of each of these ingredients. Mustard Seeds:   Mustards are rich source of health benefiting  minerals . Calcium, manganese, copper, iron,  selenium  and zinc are some of the minerals especially concentrate...

Random Thoughts of a Cricket Loving Blogger

Image
I have been wanting to blog for quite some time now, no excuses for not writing in, just that work and a hectic timeline have kept me away. A few moments of inspiration is all that the writer requires to pump him up. Last Night a customary drive past the Gennext Cricket Ground was all that was required to give that nod to the fingers and the keyboard. It was well past nine and I decided to halt for a few moments at the ground. Knowing that there would be no one there except two friendly canines who meant no harm other than the friendly lick. Perhaps they were well aware that the blogger was there to spend a few moments. Perchance if they had the abilities to mouth a few words, they might have said, "Good Evening TBK, What brings you here at this hour?" They did have that kind of quizzical look on their faces. I took my customary stride, and placed myself in the Spectators Gallery, in the company of all the hundreds of mosquitoes who were quite excited at the prospect o...
